# hypefury alternative for x

Hypefury dropped X entirely. Its own pricing page now says it no longer supports X, and the product serves Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, and Instagram instead. If X was the whole reason you paid for it, you are not looking for a better plan, you are looking for a new stack. Here is the honest version of what Argus does and does not cover. See [how it works](https://argushq.cc/how-it-works) or the [comparison hub](https://argushq.cc/compare).

## The short version

Hypefury for X was really two products in one: a queue (schedule, recycle, auto-retweet your own posts, auto-plug the winners) and a growth habit (show up, engage, get seen). Argus is not the queue. Argus is the growth half, done properly: it ranks which live post is worth your next reply and drafts that reply in your voice.

So the replacement is a pair, not a single tool. Scheduler plus Argus. If someone tells you one product does all of it and stays safe on X in 2026, read the automation clause carefully.

## What to replace with what

| What you used Hypefury for | Replace with | Does Argus do it? |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Scheduling and a posting queue | Typefully or Buffer | No |
| Evergreen recycling of old posts | A scheduler with a recycling queue | No |
| Auto-retweet and auto-plug | Nothing we would recommend - do it by hand, or not at all | No - by design |
| Knowing what is working | Argus | Yes - funnel view: reach → profile visits → follows → saves |
| Growing by showing up in replies | Argus | Yes - ranks live posts by reply opportunity, before they get crowded |
| Writing the reply | Argus | Yes - drafted in your voice, draft-and-insert, you press send |

## Why the missing half matters more than you think

The uncomfortable thing most X schedulers never told you: at a small or mid-sized account, the queue is not the bottleneck. Posting more into the same audience mostly reaches the same people. Replies are what get you in front of someone else's followers, which is the only way the number moves early on.

That is the work Argus is built for. It reads your own analytics and live timeline in your authenticated browser session, ranks posts by reply opportunity - reach-led and early-mover, so you land while the thread is still small and rising - and hands you a draft that sounds like you. See the [reply-first playbook](https://argushq.cc/guides/grow-on-x-with-replies) for the method behind it.

## About the auto-engagement features

Part of the Hypefury pitch was automation: auto-retweet your own post, auto-plug a link when a post takes off, auto-DM people who engaged. Be careful about looking for those again. X restricted API reply automation on 23 February 2026 and moved the API to pay-per-use on 6 February 2026, and in April 2026 Taplio's X Chrome extension was removed from the Chrome Web Store for a policy violation. The surface is narrowing, and the account carrying the risk is yours.

Argus will not do any of it. It never auto-posts, auto-replies, auto-follows, or auto-likes. It puts a draft in the reply box and stops. That is the product decision, not a roadmap gap.

## A stack that works today

- **Publishing:** Typefully or Buffer for the queue and threads. Both still support X.
- **Growth and replies:** Argus, in the feed, telling you where the next reply should go.
- **Diagnosis:** Argus again - which funnel stage is leaking, so you stop guessing whether the problem is reach or conversion.

## Common questions

### Does Hypefury still work with X?

No. Hypefury dropped X support entirely and its own pricing page says it no longer supports X. It now serves Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, and Instagram. If X was the only network you used it for, the product no longer covers your use case.

### Is Argus a drop-in Hypefury replacement?

No. Argus is not a scheduler. It has no queue, no evergreen recycling, and no auto-retweet or auto-plug. It covers the other half of what Hypefury users wanted: deciding which live post to reply to and drafting that reply in your voice. For scheduling, pair it with Typefully or Buffer.

### What should I use for scheduling X posts now?

Typefully and Buffer both still schedule to X and are the straightforward swaps for the queue half of Hypefury. Run one of them for publishing and Argus for the reply and analytics half. They do not conflict.

### Why does Argus not add scheduling and auto-engagement?

Because the automation surface on X keeps shrinking and the account at risk is yours. X restricted API reply automation in February 2026 and moved the API to pay-per-use the same month. Argus is draft-and-insert only: it never auto-posts, auto-replies, auto-follows, or auto-likes. You always press send.
